In a temporary art installation, Hannes Zebedin works with soil samples from historically significant locations in the Alpine-Adriatic region.

Description

In a temporary art installation, Hannes Zebedin works with soil samples from historically significant sites in the Alpine-Adriatic region.

From clay sourced from ten locations associated with events surrounding World War II, a small observation hut is created using rammed earth construction. Each visible layer represents a site and makes history discernible in the material. The walk-in hut resembles observation posts and serves as a symbolic observation point: It “guards” the present and reminds us to recognize dangerous political developments.
